Position OverviewThe Manager – Tendering & Estimation will lead the end-to-end bid management process for public and private sector projects. This role involves accurate cost estimation, risk assessment, vendor negotiations, and technical/financial proposal compilation. You will directly support executive leadership by designing highly competitive, profitable bidding strategies.Key Responsibilities1. Tender & Bid Management
- Source and evaluate government and private sector RFP/RFQ/Tender opportunities.
- Lead the end-to-end preparation of technical and commercial bid submissions.
- Ensure compliance with client specifications, state policies, and statutory regulations.
2. Advanced Cost Estimation & Rate Analysis
- Develop detailed item-rate analyses and cost estimates based on drawings.
- Utilize historical data, current market pricing, and standard books like CPWD/DSR.
- Conduct comprehensive quantity take-offs to cross-verify Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
3. Vendor Management & Procurement Coordination
- Float inquiries to subcontractors and suppliers for specialized materials.
- Perform comparative analysis of received quotes to lock in competitive pricing.
- Negotiate technical and commercial terms with external stakeholders prior to bid finalization.
4. Risk Management & Strategy
- Identify potential contractual flaws, financial risks, or hidden project liabilities.
- Formulate value engineering solutions alongside design teams to optimize project budgets.
- Present final pricing models and margin recommendations to top management.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Civil Engineering. A Post-Graduation in Construction Management or Quantity Surveying is a strong advantage.
- Software Proficiency: Expert command over Autodesk AutoCAD and advanced Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with ERP systems or estimation software is preferred.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep expertise in rate build-ups for earthwork, RCC structures, industrial piping, and MEP systems.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, numerical precision, and exceptional cross-functional leadership.
