Job Summary
The Machining Shop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily machine shop operations, managing machinists and operators, ensuring production targets are achieved, maintaining quality standards, and enforcing safety procedures. The role involves coordinating workflow, monitoring machine performance, and improving productivity in CNC and conventional machining processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the machining shop.
- Assign jobs and monitor work progress of machinists, CNC operators, and helpers.
- Ensure production schedules are completed on time.
- Monitor machining quality and ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate machine setup, tooling, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper use of CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, and other shop equipment.
- Maintain workplace safety and enforce company safety policies.
- Train and guide shop floor employees on machining procedures and best practices.
- Reduce machine downtime and improve productivity.
- Inspect finished components and resolve machining issues.
- Coordinate with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering departments.
- Maintain production reports, shift records, and inventory of tools/materials.
- Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
