About the Role
As a Research Department Member at Canonsphere, you will be responsible for conducting quality legal research and supporting the organisation’s academic, legal and research-oriented initiatives. The role involves analysing legal developments, researching case laws and statutes and preparing well-structured research material for various Canonsphere's projects and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research on assigned topics, laws, judgments and legal developments.
- Research and analyse relevant case laws, statutes, regulations, articles and legal resources.
- Prepare research notes, case summaries and other research-based documents.
- Assist in preparing research material for competitions, workshops, webinars and legal communities.
- Keep track of recent judgments, amendments and important developments in relevant areas of law.
- Ensure that all research is accurate, properly sourced and appropriately cited.
- Coordinate with other departments whenever research support is required.
- Contribute ideas for research topics, legal content and academic initiatives.
- Complete assigned research tasks within the stipulated deadlines.
- Maintain consistency and quality in all research work submitted to the department.

Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing a final-year LL.B./B.B.A. LL.B./B.A. LL.B. or equivalent law degree.
- Law graduates are also encouraged to apply.
- Prior experience in legal research, academic research, legal writing or research-based projects will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with legal research databases such as SCC Online, Manupatra, LiveLaw or equivalent platforms is preferred.
