Job Profile: PGT FINE ARTS TEACHER
Job Title: Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) – Fine Arts
Reporting To: Head of Department / Principal

Job Purpose
To effectively deliver the Fine Arts curriculum to students, developing their creativity, artistic expression, aesthetic understanding, and technical skills. The teacher is expected to provide engaging theoretical and practical instruction, prepare students for board examinations, guide students in art projects and portfolios, and encourage participation in exhibitions, competitions, and other cultural activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive Fine Arts lessons aligned with the CBSE curriculum.
- Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, demonstrations, and teaching aids.
- Teach students various techniques of drawing, painting, sketching, composition, and other relevant areas of Fine Arts.
- Provide practical training and guide students in developing individual art projects and portfolios.
- Evaluate student performance through practical work, assignments, projects, tests, and examinations.
- Prepare students effectively for Class 11 and 12 board examinations and practical assessments.
- Encourage students to participate in art exhibitions, competitions, cultural programmes, and school events.
- Maintain records of student progress, artwork, projects, and assessments.
- Use modern teaching tools such as smart boards, digital drawing tools, presentations, and educational platforms where appropriate.
- Coordinate with parents/guardians regarding student performance and development during PTMs.
- Collaborate with other teachers for interdisciplinary projects and school cultural activities.
Qualifications Educational
- Master’s Degree in Fine Arts / Applied Arts / Painting / Visual Arts from a recognized university.
- B.Ed. (Bachelor of Education) is mandatory.
Certifications (Optional but Preferred)
- CTET qualified.
- Diploma/certification in Art Education, Fine Arts, Digital Art, or relevant teaching methodologies.
- Additional certifications in educational technology or creative arts education.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of teaching experience at the senior secondary level preferred.
