CO₂ Plant Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced CO₂ Plant Manager to oversee the operation, maintenance, and performance of a CO₂ production facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing carbon capture and processing from the fermentation plant while ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable production. This role requires strong technical expertise in industrial gas operations, plant management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the CO₂ plant to ensure continuous, safe, and efficient production.
- Oversee CO₂ purification, liquefaction, storage, and filling processes while optimizing plant output, energy usage, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards through regular audits, risk assessments, and adherence to applicable regulations.
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance of compressors, pumps, refrigeration systems, storage tanks, piping, and filling equipment to maximize plant reliability and minimize downtime.
- Supervise plant operators, technicians, and support staff by providing leadership, training, performance management, and workforce planning.
- Monitor production performance, manage inventory and delivery schedules, prepare operational reports, and support cost control and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7–15 years' experience managing a CO₂ production facility, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of CO₂ production technologies, including fermentation, carbon capture, purification, liquefaction, storage, and filling operations.
- Experience managing industrial plant maintenance, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement programs.
- Sound knowledge of food-grade CO₂ quality standards, HSE practices, and applicable industry regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical manuals, and process flow diagrams.
- Strong leadership, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
