Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Electroplating In-Charge to manage and supervise the complete zinc electroplating process. The person will be responsible for production planning, plating quality, chemical and bath control, manpower management, equipment performance, safety, and achieving daily production targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the zinc electroplating plant, including pre-treatment, zinc plating, passivation, rinsing, drying, and post-treatment processes.
- Plan and monitor daily production as per customer requirements and production schedules.
- Ensure required plating thickness, appearance, adhesion, corrosion resistance, and other quality parameters are achieved.
- Monitor and maintain plating bath parameters such as:
- Zinc concentration
- pH
- Temperature
- Current density
- Chemical concentration
- Additives and brighteners
- Coordinate regular bath analysis and chemical additions to maintain process stability.
- Monitor rectifiers, plating tanks, heating/cooling systems, pumps, filters, anodes, barrels/racks, and other electroplating equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot plating defects such as:
- Uneven coating
- Burning
- Blistering
- Peeling
- Poor adhesion
- White deposits
- Dark/black deposits
- Low plating thickness
- Staining or discoloration
- Ensure proper pre-treatment and cleaning of components before plating.
- Maintain proper racking/barrelling, loading, unloading, and handling procedures.
- Supervise operators and helpers and allocate manpower according to production requirements.
- Train operators on plating processes, chemical handling, equipment operation, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, Maintenance, and Purchase/Stores departments.
- Maintain production records, bath-analysis reports, chemical-consumption records, rejection/rework reports, and daily production reports.
- Control chemical consumption and reduce process wastage without compromising quality.
- Ensure proper preventive maintenance of plating equipment and coordinate with the maintenance team for breakdowns.
- Implement 5S, housekeeping, process discipline, and continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure compliance with PPE, chemical-handling, electrical, fire, and environmental safety requirements.
- Monitor and ensure proper operation of ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) and chemical wastewater handling in coordination with the concerned team.
- Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain process documentation and ensure adherence to applicable customer specifications and quality-system requirements.
- Achieve production, quality, delivery, productivity, and rejection targets set by management.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech. in Chemical, Mechanical, Production, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in zinc electroplating, preferably in an automotive, engineering, fastener, hardware, or precision-component manufacturing environment.
- Good practical knowledge of zinc plating processes and chemical bath control.
- Knowledge of plating thickness measurement and basic laboratory/bath-analysis methods.
- Experience in handling plating defects and process troubleshooting.
- Good manpower-management and leadership skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety and chemical handling is essential.
Preferred Technical Knowledge
- Zinc alkaline/non-cyanide or acid chloride plating processes.
- Zinc passivation: clear/blue, yellow, black, etc.
- Trivalent passivation systems.
- Pre-treatment processes such as degreasing, pickling, activation, and rinsing.
- Barrel and rack plating.
- Plating thickness measurement using XRF or other suitable methods.
- Salt Spray Test (SST) requirements and corrosion-resistance control.
- Chemical bath analysis and process control.
- ETP and wastewater-treatment coordination.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹55,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
