Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Hyderabad. The Optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye examinations, including refraction, vision assessment, and detection of common ocular conditions. The role involves prescribing spectacles and contact lenses, advising customers on suitable lens options, and ensuring accurate measurements for frames and lenses. The Optometrist will use diagnostic equipment, maintain detailed patient records, and collaborate with retail staff to deliver high-quality, customer-focused eye care. The position also includes educating customers on eye health, lens care, and follow-up requirements, while upholding Optorium’s service standards.
Qualifications
- Professional optometry qualifications (Bachelor’s or Diploma in Optometry) from a recognized institution, with current eligibility to practice.
- Strong clinical skills in eye examination, refraction, binocular vision assessment, and basic detection of ocular pathologies.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic and dispensing equipment such as autorefractors, slit lamps, lensometers, and trial lens sets.
- Ability to prescribe and fit spectacles and contact lenses, with sound knowledge of lens types, coatings, and frame selection.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain clinical findings and eyewear options clearly and respectfully.
- Attention to detail, strong record-keeping habits, and adherence to clinical protocols and hygiene standards.
- Comfort working in a retail optical environment, including collaborating with sales teams and managing busy clinic schedules.
- Fluency in English and local languages (such as Telugu and Hindi) is an advantage; prior experience in an optical store or eye hospital is advantage.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
