About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer with strong expertise in Embedded C, Modern C++, RTOS, and Embedded Linux. The ideal candidate should have proven experience in developing production-grade firmware, low-level software, and embedded applications from concept to deployment.
This role is best suited for engineers who enjoy solving complex embedded problems, working closely with hardware, and building reliable, real-time systems.
Note: This is a core firmware development role. Candidates with experience primarily in testing, validation, QA, project management, or team management without significant firmware development experience will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade firmware using Embedded C and Modern C++ (C++17/20).
- Develop RTOS-based applications using FreeRTOS, Zephyr, RTX, or similar RTOS.
- Design and implement multi-threaded embedded applications with strong understanding of task scheduling, synchronization, interrupts, queues, semaphores, mutexes, timers, and memory management.
- Develop and maintain device drivers, Board Support Packages (BSP), and Hardware Abstraction Layers (HAL).
- Work on Embedded Linux platforms using Yocto and Buildroot.
- Develop firmware for communication interfaces including SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, BLE, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, MQTT, and TCP/IP.
- Perform hardware bring-up, firmware debugging, and performance optimization.
- Debug complex firmware issues using JTAG, GDB, Oscilloscope, Logic Analyzer, and other debugging tools.
- Implement secure firmware features including OTA updates, Secure Boot, Encryption, and Authentication.
- Collaborate with hardware, PCB, cloud, and product teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews while following software engineering best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence within the team.
