We are looking for a dedicated and clinically competent Resident Medical Officer (RMO) to support round-the-clock patient care, emergency response, and inpatient management.
Position Summary
The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) will be responsible for providing continuous medical care to admitted patients, handling emergencies, assisting consultants in patient management, and ensuring proper clinical documentation. The RMO will act as a key link between patients, nursing staff, and specialist doctors to maintain high standards of treatment and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities1) Patient Care & Clinical Management
- Examine, assess, and manage patients admitted in IPD, emergency, and other clinical areas.
- Take detailed medical history, perform physical examination, and document clinical findings.
- Provide first-line treatment and stabilize patients in emergency situations.
- Monitor patient progress, vitals, investigations, and treatment response on a regular basis.
- Coordinate with consultants and specialists for case discussions, referrals, and escalation of critical patients.
- Assist in the management of ICU/critical care patients as per hospital protocol and consultant guidance.
- Attend ward rounds and implement treatment plans advised by consultants.
2) Emergency & Night Duty Coverage
- Handle medical emergencies, casualty cases, and urgent patient complaints promptly.
- Provide round-the-clock medical coverage as per roster, including night shifts and holidays.
- Perform emergency procedures as required, including basic life support and initial resuscitation measures.
- Ensure timely communication to consultants and hospital management in critical or medico-legal cases.
3) Inpatient & Ward Management
- Review admitted patients daily and ensure continuity of care.
- Write progress notes, treatment orders, medication advice, and discharge summaries accurately.
- Coordinate with nursing staff for medication administration, investigations, procedures, and patient monitoring.
- Ensure timely follow-up of lab reports, imaging, and specialist opinions.
4) Clinical Procedures
- Perform basic bedside procedures such as IV cannulation, catheterization, Ryle’s tube insertion, suturing, wound dressing support, and other procedures within the scope of practice.
- Assist consultants in minor procedures, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative monitoring where required.
- Support sample collection, ECG review, and immediate clinical interpretation in urgent situations.
5) Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain complete, accurate, and legible medical records for all patients.
- Prepare admission notes, case sheets, progress notes, death summaries, referral notes, and discharge documentation.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control practices, biomedical waste rules, patient safety protocols, and NABH-oriented quality standards.
- Participate in medico-legal documentation whenever applicable.
6) Coordination & Communication
- Communicate clearly with consultants, nurses, patients, and patient attendants regarding treatment progress and immediate medical concerns.
- Provide appropriate counseling to patients and relatives regarding condition, treatment plan, and follow-up instructions.
- Support smooth handover between duty shifts with proper case updates.
7) Quality & Hospital Support
- Follow hospital clinical protocols, code blue/emergency response protocols, and patient safety guidelines.
- Participate in audits, case reviews, mortality/morbidity discussions, and quality improvement activities when required.
- Assist hospital administration in maintaining discipline, patient service standards, and clinical workflow efficiency.
Eligibility CriteriaEducational Qualification
- MBBS from a recognized medical college/institution.
- Valid registration with National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council is mandatory.
Experience
- 0 to 3 years of clinical/hospital experience preferred.
- Fresh MBBS doctors with good clinical knowledge and willingness to work in a hospital setup may also apply.
- Experience in emergency, ICU, medicine, or multispeciality hospital environment will be an added advantage.

Compensation
- Salary and benefits will be discussed based on qualification, experience, and duty structure.
