Role Description The Service Engineer (3 to 7 years of Experience) - Hoist & Cranes is a full-time, on-site role based in Bhopal. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance on hoists, cranes, and related lifting equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operation. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, carrying out repairs and adjustments, and providing technical support to clients at their facilities. The role involves conducting field service visits, preparing service reports, coordinating with the internal team for spare parts and upgrades, and advising customers on proper usage and safety practices. The Service Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement by reporting recurring issues and suggesting technical enhancements.
Professional Experience
- Single/Double Girder EOT cranes, gantry cranes, jib cranes, and electric wire rope hoists.
- VFD parameter tuning, control panel wiring, radio remote controls (RRC), and DSL busbar systems. Gearbox overhauling, CT/LT wheel alignment, brake adjustments, and wire rope replacement. Annual structural audits, deflection testing, and certified Safe Working Load (SWL) testing.
- Expert diagnostics on Demag, Konecranes, Stahl, Street Crane, Mukand Cranes, Anupam Cranes , ElectroMech equipment Etc .
- Supervise a team of technicians executing erection, alignment, and commissioning of heavy-duty EOT cranes.
- Act as the tier-2 technical escalation point for critical breakdown calls in steel, cement, and manufacturing plants.
- Program and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives line Danfoss, ABB, Schneider, Siemens, Allen Bradly, Honeywell, Bharat Bijlee to ensure smooth multi-speed operations and reduce mechanical jerk.
- Decreased client equipment downtime by 18% through the implementation of data-driven PM checklists.
- Conducted official load-deflection tests up to maximum capacity and issued precise technical health reports.
- Responded to daily emergency calls to repair hoists, limit switches, contactors, and pendant cables.
- Evaluated hooks, wire ropes, sheaves, and brake liners for safety compliance, recommending structural replacements.
- Successfully upgraded older, contactor-based crane control systems to modern wireless radio remote operations.
- Coordinated with the procurement team to ensure immediate availability of high-turnover critical spares.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as required with required diagnostic tools .
Education & Certifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent technical stream).
- Safety Certifications: Working at Heights Certification
