Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Agri-Food Commodities Research Analyst to track, analyze, and forecast trends in agricultural commodities. The role involves working closely with data, market intelligence, and on-ground insights to support decision-making across sourcing, pricing, and market linkage.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on agri-food commodities (grains, pulses, oilseeds, spices, etc.)
- Track mandi prices, demand-supply trends, and seasonal patterns across regions
- Analyze market data to generate actionable insights for buyers, sellers, and internal teams
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly commodity reports and dashboards
- Monitor government policies, MSP changes, import/export trends, and global commodity movements
- Work with data science and product teams to improve AI/ML models for quality and price prediction
- Support risk assessment for buyers and sellers using market intelligence
- Identify arbitrage and market linkage opportunities
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Economics, Agri-Business, or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in commodity research, agri-markets, or trading (freshers with strong knowledge can apply)
- Strong understanding of Indian agricultural markets and supply chains
- Proficiency in Excel, data analysis, and reporting
- Ability to interpret data and convert it into meaningful insights
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills (written and verbal)
Good to Have
- Experience with agri datasets (mandi data, satellite data, weather data)
- Knowledge of commodity trading platforms or agri startups
- Familiarity with tools like Python, Power BI, or Tableau
- Understanding of quality parameters in agri commodities
