Job Description: Assistant Restaurant Manager

Reports To: Restaurant Manager / General Manager
Position Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the establishment. This role focuses on maintaining high standards of customer service, supervising front-of-house and back-of-house staff, and assisting the Manager in achieving financial and operational targets. The ideal candidate is a disciplined leader with a strong eye for detail and a passion for hospitality excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Oversight
- Supervise daily shifts to ensure seamless service from opening to closing.
- Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation protocols.
- Monitor inventory levels (beverages, supplies, and equipment) and coordinate with vendors for timely procurement.
- Conduct regular inspections of the dining area and kitchen to ensure premium presentation and cleanliness.
2. Team Leadership & Development
- Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new staff members.
- Create weekly duty rosters and manage staff attendance/leave requests.
- Foster a disciplined and positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Conduct pre-shift briefings to discuss daily specials, guest feedback, and service goals.
3. Guest Experience
- Engage with guests to ensure total satisfaction and handle any complaints with professionalism and a "guest-first" mindset.
- Oversee table reservations and seating flow to maximize efficiency during peak hours.
- Ensure all service staff follow the established SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for greeting, serving, and billing.
4. Financial & Administrative Support
- Assist in managing daily cash flows, billing reports, and banking deposits.
- Help monitor labor costs and operational expenses to meet budgetary goals.
- Provide input for marketing strategies and promotional events to drive footfall.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with POS (Point of Sale) software and basic MS Office (Excel, Word).
- Language: Fluency in English and Marathi is highly preferred to effectively communicate with staff and local clientele.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, time management, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
