Job Title: Tool Room Manager
Location: Silvassa, IndiaExperience: 10+ YearsEducation: Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. (Mechanical, Tool Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline)
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the complete Tool Room operations for Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM) and/or Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM) manufacturing.
Plan, organize, and monitor preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of molds, dies, jigs, fixtures, and tooling.
Ensure timely tool development, modification, repair, and maintenance to support uninterrupted production.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, NPD, and Maintenance teams for new product development and tooling requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance tool life, reduce downtime, and improve productivity.
Manage tool inventory, spare parts, and tooling documentation.
Troubleshoot tooling-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and 5S practices within the Tool Room.
Monitor tool room KPIs, maintenance schedules, and budget utilization.
Lead, mentor, and develop the Tool Room team to achieve operational excellence.
Coordinate with external tool makers and vendors for tool development, repairs, and procurement.
Support root cause analysis and implement process improvements to optimize tooling performance.
Required Skills & Experience:
Strong experience in Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM) and/or Injection Stretch Blow Molding (ISBM).
Hands-on expertise in mold maintenance, tool manufacturing, tooling development, and troubleshooting.
Good knowledge of CNC machining, EDM, VMC, conventional machining, and tool room equipment.
Experience in mold trials, process optimization, and tool validation.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, tooling materials, and manufacturing processes.
Excellent leadership, planning, problem-solving, and team management skills.
Experience working in a high-volume plastic packaging or manufacturing environment will be preferred.
