About the Role
The Program Extension Associate will support field-level implementation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Community-Based Flood Early Warning Systems (CBFEWS). The role involves facilitating stakeholder coordination, community engagement, primary data collection, and
monitoring of project activities. The position will ensure effective implementation of interventions while promoting Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) and strengthening community ownership.
Job Profile
- Support implementation of NbS and CBFEWS activities at field level in coordination with project teams and stakeholders.
- Coordinate baseline assessments, including Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), and household surveys.
- Facilitate community consultations, awareness programmes, and stakeholder meetings.
- Support installation, testing, and operationalization of CBFEWS systems at pilot sites.
- Mobilize communities and ensure inclusive participation following GESI principles.
- Coordinate with DDMA, SDMA, Panchayats, community institutions, and local partners.
- Collect field monitoring data and track progress against project logframe indicators.
- Support organization of trainings, sensitization programmes, and Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops.
- Assist in documentation of field activities and reporting requirements.
- Ensure adherence to organizational safeguarding, child protection, and Code of Conduct policies.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate degree in Social Work, Rural Development, Disaster Management, Environmental Studies, Sociology, or related field.
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in community mobilization, DRR projects, climate adaptation, or rural development initiatives.
- Experience working with local governance institutions and community-based organizations preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills in local language(s).
- Willingness and commitment to reside in the project villages.
- Basic knowledge of data collection tools and reporting formats.
