Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, responsible and student-focused Primary School Teacher to teach students in Grades 1 to 5.
The selected candidate will be responsible for building strong foundations in language, mathematics, environmental studies and general learning skills. The teacher should create an engaging classroom environment while maintaining clear academic standards, discipline and regular communication with parents.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach primary-level subjects based on the CBSE curriculum.
- Plan and deliver structured, engaging and age-appropriate lessons.
- Develop strong foundations in English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies and general awareness.
- Improve students’ reading, writing, speaking, comprehension and numerical skills.
- Prepare annual plans, monthly plans, lesson plans, worksheets and classroom activities.
- Complete the prescribed syllabus according to the school’s academic calendar.
- Conduct class tests, assessments, oral activities, projects and revision exercises.
- Evaluate notebooks, worksheets and answer scripts accurately and on time.
- Identify students who require additional academic support and conduct remedial sessions.
- Track individual student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, independent thinking and active classroom participation.
- Use stories, activities, experiments, teaching aids and digital resources to make learning meaningful.
- Maintain classroom discipline in a positive and respectful manner.
- Ensure students follow proper handwriting, notebook presentation and homework practices.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding academic performance, behaviour and attendance.
- Participate in parent-teacher meetings, staff meetings and academic review meetings.
- Support school assemblies, competitions, celebrations, field activities and co-curricular programmes.
- Perform examination duties, substitution periods and other responsibilities assigned by the school management.
- Ensure the safety, emotional well-being and proper supervision of students during school hours.
Required Qualifications
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Good knowledge of primary-level teaching methods and child development.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and maintain proper academic documentation.
- Basic knowledge of digital teaching tools and educational technology.
Preferred Experience
- Experience teaching Grades 1 to 5.
- Ability to handle multiple primary subjects.
- Experience in phonics, activity-based learning or competency-based education will be an advantage.
- Freshers with strong communication skills and suitable teacher-training qualifications may also apply.
