About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to own and scale our credit and risk product suite. It's a role that sits right at the crossing point of what the business needs, what customers need, what engineering can build, and what actually gets delivered. Because of that, you'll need to operate as both a domain expert and a product leader, not one or the other.
This isn't a role for someone who wants to manage credit products from a distance. You'll need real, hands-on familiarity with how credit and risk decisions work inside Indian financial institutions. That's what will make you credible with partners, engineering teams, and compliance alike.
You'll own the journey from eligibility and decisioning logic all the way through to disbursal or registration outcomes. Along the way, you'll work closely with lending and banking partners, engineering, data science, design, risk, and compliance.
What You'll Do
- Own the funnel end to end, from eligibility definition and decisioning workflows through to successful disbursal or registration, working in close partnership with lending and banking partners.
- Define and evolve risk and decisioning logic with risk, data science, and credit teams. Translate policy and regulatory requirements into product and system specifications that engineering can actually build.
- Design and implement integrations that bring multiple lending partners, bureaus, and risk data sources together into one seamless platform.
- Build and scale automated decisioning capabilities, including AI and ML-driven workflows, that can read context, apply rules, and execute decisions on their own while staying accurate and auditable.
- Partner with Engineering, Data Science, Design, and Operations to turn requirements into shipped features. Balance speed with rigor; both matter here.
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk, and Legal to make sure every product decision and workflow holds up against regulatory requirements for Indian lending and banking.
- Drive improvements to customer experience. Dig into escalations, run VOC programs with Customer Service, and turn what you learn into roadmap priorities.
- Set success metrics and build reporting that's rigorous enough to guide prioritization and show real impact.
- Make smart tradeoffs, manage dependencies across teams, and keep communication flowing so delivery stays smooth and predictable.
- Serve as the internal subject-matter expert on credit and risk. Engineering and design teams should be able to come to you for the “why” behind the policy, the data, and the regulatory constraints.
What We're Looking For
Experience
- 5 to 8 years of total experience, including at least 3 to 5 years in Product Management within fintech, lending, or banking in India.
- Proven track record building and integrating multiple lending or financial partners. Experience building platforms or networks is a strong plus.
- A clear track record of taking a product from zero to one and scaling it into something that actually makes money.
- Hands-on experience with credit, risk, or underwriting functions at a bank, NBFC, or fintech. You should be able to talk credit policy, risk data, and decisioning workflows fluently, not just from a distance.
Domain Knowledge
- Solid grasp of how credit and risk actually work inside Indian banks, NBFCs, and fintechs. That includes eligibility assessment, decisioning logic, bureau and alternate data, and the regulatory side of things (RBI guidelines, data privacy, fair lending practices, and so on).
- Comfortable with partner and lender integration models, APIs, and how risk and credit data moves between systems.
Technical Skills
- Comfortable with data analytics, API integrations, and the software development lifecycle.
- Any exposure to AI or ML-driven decisioning and automation is a big plus.
Core Competencies
- A genuine owner mindset. You should want to be accountable for outcomes, not just outputs.
- Sharp problem-solving skills, with the judgment to balance customer empathy, business goals, and regulatory constraints all at once.
- Strong cross-functional leadership. You'll need to bring Engineering, Design, Risk, Compliance, and Operations onto the same page.
- A clear communicator who's comfortable talking directly to senior stakeholders and external partners.
Education
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or Finance. An MBA helps but isn't required.
Why This Role Matters
Credit and risk decisions are the backbone of any lending business. Get them right and you unlock growth, trust, and scale. Get them wrong and the cost shows up everywhere, from compliance headaches to a poor customer experience. This role puts you in charge of that backbone. You'll shape how the product thinks about risk, how it talks to partners, and how it delivers a fast, fair experience to customers, all while working closely with engineering and compliance to make it real.
