Shift Incharge – Boiler Operations

Experience Required:
10–12 Years in Boiler & Power Plant Operations
Qualification:
Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Power Plant Engineering or equivalent.
Key Responsibilities:
- To operate and monitor Boiler, Turbine, and all allied utility systems safely and efficiently during the shift.
- Ensure continuous steam generation and uninterrupted utility supply as per plant production requirements.
- Monitor boiler parameters such as pressure, temperature, fuel consumption, water level, steam flow, and efficiency on regular basis.
- Coordinate with Control Room Operators, Field Operators, and Maintenance teams for smooth operation of the plant.
- Ensure safe startup, shutdown, and load handling of Boiler and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain proper combustion, draft, and fuel feeding system for optimum boiler efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to all safety procedures, SOPs, statutory norms, and pollution control guidelines.
- Handle shift manpower effectively and allocate duties to operators and technicians.
- Maintain logbooks, shift reports, breakdown records, and operational checklists accurately.
- Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrumentation departments during maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and take immediate corrective actions to avoid production loss.
- Monitor water treatment parameters and ensure proper boiler water quality standards.
- Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness in boiler and utility areas during the shift.
- Train junior operators and support skill development of shift manpower.
- Ensure proper shift handover and takeover with complete operational status communication.
- Monitor fuel consumption and utility performance to achieve operational cost efficiency.
- Ensure availability and proper functioning of safety equipment and firefighting systems in the boiler area.
- Report abnormal conditions, unsafe acts, and equipment deviations immediately to higher management.
- Support management in achieving production targets, energy efficiency, and zero accident objectives.
- Maintain discipline, punctuality, and effective coordination within the shift team.
- Capable of confidently handling Desk Emergency Operations during critical plant situations and emergencies.
- Having good hands-on experience working as DCS Engineer and handling boiler operations through DCS systems effectively.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Boiler Operations & Power Plant Utilities
- Knowledge of AFBC / CFBC / WHRB Boiler Operations
- Good hands-on experience in DCS operation & troubleshooting
- Emergency handling and critical decision-making capability
- Team handling & shift management
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Knowledge of safety standards and statutory compliance
Preferred Industry Experience:
Steel Plant / Sponge Iron / Power Plant / Cement / Process Industry
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
