Position Summary
The Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and monitoring the complete execution of Solar O&M projects across multiple sites. The role involves coordinating manpower, material, contractors, safety, client communication, reporting, preventive maintenance, breakdown management, and ensuring maximum plant uptime while maintaining the highest safety standards.
The Operations Manager shall ensure that all projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with company SOPs and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities1. Operations Management
- Manage day-to-day operations of multiple solar O&M projects.
- Ensure timely execution of preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Monitor daily generation performance of all assigned solar plants.
- Coordinate with Site Engineers for smooth plant operations.
- Ensure minimum downtime and maximum plant availability.
- Develop maintenance schedules and annual maintenance plans.
2. Team Management
- Lead and supervise Site Engineers, Supervisors, Technicians, and Contractors.
- Allocate manpower based on project priorities.
- Conduct regular performance reviews.
- Train field teams on technical procedures and safety practices.
- Build a high-performance operations culture.
3. Client Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Attend review meetings with customers.
- Resolve operational issues promptly.
- Ensure contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are achieved.
- Maintain strong customer relationships.
4. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Ensure scheduled preventive maintenance is completed on time.
- Manage emergency breakdowns with quick response.
- Monitor inverter, transformer, HT/LT equipment, SCADA, modules, structures, earthing systems, and electrical balance of system.
- Identify recurring faults and implement permanent corrective actions.
5. Contractor Management
- Appoint and supervise cleaning contractors and maintenance vendors.
- Verify contractor work quality.
- Ensure contractor compliance with safety regulations.
- Approve contractor work completion reports.
6. Inventory & Material Management
- Monitor spare parts inventory.
- Forecast material requirements.
- Coordinate procurement for critical spares.
- Control inventory costs.
- Ensure timely dispatch of materials to sites.
7. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Enforce PPE usage across all sites.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety audits.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and client safety requirements.
8. Performance Monitoring
- Monitor KPIs including:
- Plant Availability
- Performance Ratio (PR)
- Specific Generation
- Downtime Analysis
- Response Time
- Resolution Time
- Energy Loss Analysis
- Prepare action plans for underperforming plants.
9. Reporting & Documentation
Prepare and review:
- Daily Operational Reports
- Weekly Reports
- Monthly O&M Reports
- Client MIS Reports
- Incident Reports
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Preventive Maintenance Reports
- Breakdown Reports
- Energy Generation Reports
- Spare Consumption Reports
- Safety Reports
10. Cost Control
- Monitor operational expenses.
- Optimize manpower utilization.
- Improve operational efficiency.
- Reduce maintenance costs through preventive planning.
- Support budgeting and annual operating plans.

Educational Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in Solar EPC and/or Solar O&M.
- Minimum 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience managing multiple solar sites simultaneously is preferred.
Travel Requirement
- Extensive travel across project locations in Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat region.
- Regular site inspections and client visits as required.
