Responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing New Product Development (NPD) activities within the Machine Shop to meet customer requirements, quality standards, and project timelines. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams including design, quality, production, and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
1. NPD Planning & Execution
· Manage end-to-end NPD activities for machined components from feasibility study to production release.
· Review technical drawings, specifications, and BOM for new projects.
· Develop machining processes and select tools, fixtures, and equipment for NPD.
· Ensure compliance with cost, quality, and delivery targets.
2. Process Development & Validation
· Prepare process flow, control plans, and work instructions for new products.
· Conduct process trials, capability studies, and PPAP submission.
· Support tooling design, procurement, and validation.
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
· Liaise with design, quality, production, and purchase teams for smooth project execution.
· Communicate with customers for technical clarifications and approvals.
· Coordinate with suppliers for special tooling and outsourced machining requirements.
4. Quality & Compliance
· Ensure adherence to ISO/IATF quality management systems in all NPD activities.
· Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any deviations.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives in machining processes.
5. Reporting & Documentation
· Maintain NPD project tracker with timelines and milestones.
· Prepare and present regular project status reports to management.
· Document lessons learned for future projects.
Qualifications & Experience
· Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
· Experience: 2–4 years in Machine Shop operations with at least 1 years in NPD.
· Industry: Industrial components / heavy engineering / automotive / precision machining.
Skills & Competencies
· Strong knowledge of CNC/VMC/HMC machining processes and tooling.
· Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and reading engineering drawings.
· Knowledge of GD&T, process capability, and PPAP documentation.
· Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per month
