Role Overview :
The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for driving business growth across the assigned territory through effective sales planning, distributor management, market expansion, and team leadership. The role involves achieving primary and secondary sales targets, strengthening market presence, ensuring excellent execution at the retail level, and building a high-performing sales team.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development :
1. Drive achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual primary and secondary sales targets.
2. Develop and execute territory sales plans to ensure business growth across Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha.
3. Identify new business opportunities and expand market reach in existing and potential markets.
4. Monitor sales performance and take corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
Distributor Management :
1. Appoint, manage, and strengthen distributor networks across the cluster.
2. Ensure healthy stock levels and smooth product availability in the market.
3. Monitor distributor ROI, secondary sales, claims, and overall business performance.
4. Maintain strong relationships with distributors to ensure smooth business operations and collections.
Team Management :
1. Lead, mentor, and monitor frontline sales teams including Sales Officers and Territory Sales Executives.
2. Set clear targets and KPIs for the team and regularly review performance.
3. Conduct market visits with team members to ensure effective execution and capability development.
4. Motivate the team to drive productivity, discipline, and sales efficiency.
Market Execution :
1. Ensure proper product visibility, merchandising, and branding activities at retail outlets.
2. Drive outlet expansion and improve numeric and weighted distribution.
3. Implement trade schemes, promotional activities, and market activation plans effectively.
4. Ensure timely execution of company sales and marketing initiatives.
Market Intelligence & Reporting :
1. Track competitor activities, pricing, schemes, and market trends.
2. Analyze sales data and market feedback to recommend business improvements.
3. Prepare and maintain MIS reports, sales forecasts, and review presentations.
4. Ensure timely reporting of sales performance, collections, and market updates.
Collection & Compliance :
1. Ensure collection efficiency and control outstanding payments within company norms.
2. Monitor adherence to company policies, processes, and reporting systems.
3. Coordinate with internal stakeholders for smooth supply chain and operational support.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in equivalent field
2. Postgraduate or MBA qualification in Sales/ Marketing Management will be an added advantage
Skills & Experience
1. 8–12 years in General Trade Sales. Experience in Luggage / Footwear / Consumer Durables / Bags / FMCG.
2. Exposure to Eastern India GT markets preferred
3. Strong negotiation and business-case selling skills.
4. Strong distributor management capability Territory business planning skills
5. High field orientation Negotiation & excellence Entrepreneurial, resilient, and target-focused mindset.
6. Data-driven with Excel & reporting proficiency
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,050,000.00 per year
