DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate heavy hospital vehicles, including ambulances.
- Transport medical equipment, oxygen cylinders, pharmaceuticals, and other hospital supplies.
- Ensure the timely transfer of patients between facilities when required.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or required repairs to the transport supervisor immediately.
- Ensure proper sanitization and cleanliness of vehicles, particularly patient transport units.
- Adhere to hospital and government transportation regulations and safety protocols.
- Assist in emergency medical transport situations, ensuring safe and fast patient transfers.
- Follow instructions from medical personnel during patient transportation.
- Be available for on-call duties when emergency transport is required.
- Maintain accurate logs of trips, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Follow hospital protocols for logging patient transport details when necessary.
- Ensure all required documentation, such as licenses and permits, is up to date.
- Treat patients, hospital staff, and visitors with respect and professionalism.
- Assist patients and staff with loading and unloading medical equipment and other necessary items.
- Follow hospital policies regarding patient confidentiality and safety.
