Job Description- Structural Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Structural Modelling: Develop accurate 3D and 2D models of steel structures using STAAD. Pro Connect Edition.
- Load & Code Analysis: Apply appropriate dead, live, wind, and seismic loads.
- Perform Linear/Non-linear Static, Dynamic, and Response Spectrum Analysis.
- Steel Design: Execute detailed design of beams, columns, trusses, and connections using standards like AISC 360, IS 800, or Eurocode 3.
- Connection Design: Utilize auxiliary tools like IDEA STATICA Connection to verify structural joints (bolted and welded).
- Drafting Coordination: Work closely with drafters/detailers to ensure outputs match engineering intent and fabrication requirements.
- Review and approve fabrication/shop drawings generated by the detailing team in Tekla or AutoCAD to ensure absolute alignment with the design intent.
- Quality Assurance (QA/QC): Check detailed drawings, conduct internal design
- reviews, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Interface with Boiler Pressure Parts, Piping, and Mechanical layout teams to map out
- load data, clearance requirements, and structural penetrations.
- Prepare comprehensive Technical Design Basis reports, calculations, and steel
- procurement material take-offs (MTOs).
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering or Civil
- Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 5 to 10+ years of hardcore structural design experience, with a minimum
- of 3 years dedicated exclusively to utility boiler towers (660MW / 800MW
- capacities) or massive heavy industrial plants.
Software Expertise
- Mandatory: Expert proficiency in STAAD.Pro (or STAAD.Pro Connect Edition).
- Connection & Detailing: Hands-on experience with IDEA STATICA. Familiarity with
- reviewing models in Tekla Structures or Navisworks.
- General: AutoCAD, MS Excel (Advanced structural spreadsheets)
- Soft Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical mind with absolute attention to structural safety, load path
- integrity, and joint detailing.
- Highly collaborative communicator capable of working across diverse global
- engineering disciplines (Mechanical, Piping, Electrical).
- Ability to work under tight project timelines and manage structural design changes
- efficiently
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,250,000.00 per year
