Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the coffee store, ensuring exceptional customer service, efficient team management, inventory control, and achievement of sales targets. This role is responsible for maintaining brand standards, driving operational excellence, and creating a welcoming environment for customers while fostering a positive and productive team culture.
Key ResponsibilitiesStore Operations
- Assist in managing day-to-day store operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and food safety standards.
- Monitor store cleanliness, hygiene, and visual merchandising standards.
- Handle store opening and closing procedures, cash management, and daily reporting.
Customer Experience
- Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure every customer has a positive experience.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Promote customer loyalty through personalized service and product knowledge.
Team Leadership
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of baristas and store staff.
- Supervise daily staff activities and delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Motivate, coach, and provide performance feedback to team members.
- Assist in scheduling staff to meet operational and business requirements.
Sales & Business Performance
- Support achievement of daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets.
- Upsell beverages, food items, and promotional products.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and recommend improvements.
- Assist in implementing local marketing and promotional activities.
Inventory & Stock Management
- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as required.
- Minimize stock losses and wastage.
- Conduct regular stock counts and maintain inventory records.
- Ensure proper storage and handling of coffee beans, dairy products, and other supplies.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure beverages and food products meet company quality standards.
- Monitor equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs when required.
- Maintain consistency in product preparation and presentation.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations.
- Conduct routine safety checks and maintain cleanliness standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in retail, café, QSR, or hospitality operations.
- At least 1 year of supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
