Job Description:
We are seeking a DevOps Security Engineer with a strong focus on infrastructure and operating system security to harden, monitor, and protect our on-premises data center environment. Sitting at the intersection of DevOps automation and security engineering, you will own the security posture of servers, virtualization layers, and internal networks by building automated, repeatable hardening and compliance processes.
What will your role look like
- Harden Linux and Windows servers against CIS Benchmarks using Ansible, OpenSCAP, and Lynis for automated compliance checks.
- Implement host-level security controls including SSH hardening, least-privilege policies, SELinux/AppArmor, auditd, host firewalls, and kernel tuning.
- Operate a vulnerability management program featuring scheduled scanning with OpenVAS/Nessus, CVE triage, and automated patching.
- Manage configuration as code using Ansible, Puppet, or Salt to guarantee version-controlled, repeatable setups and drift detection.
- Deploy centralized logging, monitoring, and detection systems like Wazuh, ELK, or Graylog with file integrity monitoring.
- Strengthen network security through VLAN segmentation, firewall rule management, TLS/PKI, VPNs, and secrets management via HashiCorp Vault.
- Harden identity infrastructure (Active Directory/FreeIPA/LDAP) and secure out-of-band interfaces like iDRAC, iLO, and IPMI.
- Support compliance and audit initiatives by mapping controls to CIS, NIST, or ISO 27001, while participating in incident response.
Why you will love this role
- Enjoy full remote flexibility while securing on-premises infrastructure and data centers.
- Ownership over the security posture and automation frameworks of servers and network systems.
- Competitive salary package ranging from 30–38 LPA.
We would like you to bring along
- 5 to 10 years of experience in DevOps, Linux/systems engineering, or infrastructure roles with direct hands-on security responsibilities.
- Deep expertise in Linux administration (RHEL/Ubuntu), OS hardening, PAM, permissions, and kernel security parameters.
- Hands-on experience applying CIS Benchmarks (OpenSCAP, Lynis) and automated configuration using Ansible, Puppet, or Salt.
- Solid networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, firewalls, TLS/PKI, VPNs, and network segmentation.
- Demonstrated experience with vulnerability scanning, patch management, centralized logging/SIEM (Wazuh, ELK, Graylog), and scripting in Bash and Python.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Proxmox, Hyper-V), Git version control, Jenkins, and Terraform.
