Role Description: The Wiring Harness Manufacturing Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for wiring harnesses, including process planning, tooling selection, and layout design for efficient production. Day-to-day tasks include creating work instructions, supporting line setup, monitoring production performance, and resolving manufacturing issues to improve quality, throughput, and safety. The engineer will collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability of new harness designs, implement engineering changes, and support cost reduction initiatives. The role also involves data-driven problem solving, documentation of standards, and support for continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities on the shop floor.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Manufacturing Engineering and Manufacturing Processes, with experience in process planning and optimization for production environments.
- Background in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and design for manufacturability.
- Hands-on familiarity with Machining and related fabrication methods, including working with suppliers or internal machine shops as needed.
- Experience with wiring harness or electrical assembly manufacturing, including routing, termination methods, and harness testing (preferred).
- Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, PFMEA, control plans) and basic understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
- Proficiency in using CAD or related engineering tools to review and support harness design and layout (preferred).
- Ability to work on-site in a production environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field; relevant industry experience in wiring harness or similar discrete manufacturing is an advantage.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
