This is a dual-role culinary professional responsible for preparing European-style (Continental) hot dishes alongside cold pantry items like salads, cold appetizers, and sandwiches. This position is common in cafes, cloud kitchens, and restaurants aiming for cross-functional kitchen operations.
Core Responsibilities
- Continental Cooking: Prepare and cook hot Continental dishes such as pastas, grills, pizzas, burgers, and sauces.
- Pantry / Garde Manger: Handle all cold food preparations including assembling salads, chilled soups, canapés, and deli sandwiches.
- Mise en Place: Pre-chop vegetables, portion meats, and organize ingredients before service.
- Hygiene and Inventory: Strictly monitor food freshness, date labels, and storage temperatures to prevent spoilage. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
Typical Requirements
- Experience: Usually requires 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Continental and pantry operations.
- Skills: Strong knife skills, knowledge of western sauces, and the ability to maintain consistency in taste and plating.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
