Key Responsibilities
- Design customized hydraulic and material-handling equipment based on customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Prepare concept designs, 3D models, general arrangement drawings, manufacturing drawings and assembly drawings.
- Perform engineering calculations, including load, structural strength, stability, deflection, hydraulic system and component-selection calculations.
- Conduct structural analysis and FEA to validate equipment performance under rated, dynamic and eccentric loading conditions.
- Analyse designs for safety, functionality, manufacturability, cost and serviceability.
- Select suitable materials, hydraulic cylinders, motors, pumps, valves, power packs and other mechanical components.
- Prepare bills of materials, cutting lists, part drawings and technical documentation for production.
- Develop and review hydraulic circuit diagrams and equipment operating sequences.
- Coordinate with sales, procurement, production, quality and installation teams throughout the project.
- Review customer specifications, site measurements and technical requirements before finalizing the design.
- Support design reviews, risk assessments, technical clarifications and customer approvals.
- Resolve design-related issues during manufacturing, assembly, testing and installation.
- Maintain drawing revisions, design records and project documentation.
- Improve existing products through value engineering, standardization and continuous design development.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in mechanical design, industrial equipment, hydraulics, lifting equipment or material-handling machinery.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is required.
- Experience with analysis and simulation software, such as ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation, is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of engineering calculations, FEA, material selection, welding, machining and fabrication processes.
- Ability to prepare accurate production drawings, assemblies, BOMs and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, cylinders, power packs and control circuits is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with applicable machine safety and design standards is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customized projects and complete designs within committed timelines.
