Production Head / Plant In-Charge
Heat Transfer Label (HTL) Production Project
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Production Head to lead and run our Heat Transfer Label (HTL) manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate must possess hands-on, in-depth technical expertise in heat transfer logo production across all major technologies — Hot Peel, Cold Peel, Sheet Form, and Roll Form — coupled with a proven track record of independently managing a production floor end-to-end. The candidate will be responsible for production planning, machine operation, quality control, troubleshooting, training, and meeting strict delivery schedules.
CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED (MANDATORY)
1. Heat Transfer Logo / Label Production
- In-depth technical knowledge of Heat Transfer Label (HTL) and Heat Transfer Sticker production from artwork to finished transfer.
- Silicone HD Heat Transfer Stickers — full production cycle, color matching, and curing parameters.
- Draw Code / Silicone Dipping techniques and process control.
- Multi-base printing expertise: Silicone, Water-Base, Plastisol, and Solvent-Based inks on insoles, fabrics and tapes.
- Elastic printing and specialty substrate handling.
2. Hot Peel & Cold Peel Technology
- Hot Peel transfers — process parameters, temperature/pressure/time settings, adhesive selection, ink stack sequencing and immediate release characteristics.
- Cold Peel transfers — matte and gloss finish control, cooling cycle management, peel timing, and defect prevention (cracking, ghosting, incomplete release).
- Decision-making capability to choose Hot Peel vs. Cold Peel based on fabric type, end application, and customer requirements.
3. Sheet Form & Roll Form Production
- Sheet Form production: flat-bed/screen sheet printing setup, registration accuracy, drying tunnel control, stacking and packing for short runs and high-mix orders.
- Roll Form production: rotary / continuous roll printing, web tension control, in-line curing, roll winding, splicing, and high-volume yield optimisation.
- Switching expertise: ability to plan and execute on both formats depending on order volume, design complexity and cost economics.
PRODUCTION FLOOR MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE (MANDATORY)
- Proven experience independently running a Heat Transfer Label production floor as Plant Head / Production Manager / Production In-Charge.
- Production planning & scheduling — managing strict delivery timelines, daily/weekly output targets, and capacity utilisation.
- Quality control — checking production output against approved specifications, sample approvals, and rejection control.
- Machine operations — set-up, troubleshooting and minor repair of printing, curing, and finishing machines.
- Manpower management — training new operators on safe machine handling and standard operating procedures; shift planning; productivity tracking.
- Cross-functional coordination with engineering, design, sampling, dispatch and customer service teams.
- Reporting — daily production, downtime, wastage, and performance reports to senior management.
- Safety & compliance — enforcement of safety rules, chemical handling protocols, and company policies on the shop floor.
- Continuous improvement — introducing new techniques, reducing rejection rate, and improving throughput.
ADDITIONAL / DESIRABLE SKILLS
- Working knowledge of ERP systems for production tracking and BOM management.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting and documentation.
- Familiarity with raw material sourcing — inks, release papers, adhesives, films.
- Basic understanding of artwork / pre-press for screen and rotary printing.
- Communication in English, Bengali and Hindi; ability to brief both operators and management.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Total Experience
Minimum 7–10 years in the printing / heat transfer / garment trims industry.
Role-Specific Experience
At least 3–5 years in a Plant Head / Production Manager / Production In-Charge role in Heat Transfer Label manufacturing.
Mandatory Hands-On
Hot Peel, Cold Peel, Sheet Form, Roll Form — all four must be demonstrable.
Education
Minimum 12th pass (C.B.S.E. / equivalent). Diploma or certification in Printing Technology / Production Management is preferred.
Software
MS Office, ERP exposure.
Languages
English, Bengali and Hindi.
Industry Background
Garment trims, labels, stickers, sportswear branding, or fabric printing.
KEY DELIVERABLES ON THE JOB
- Run the HTL production floor as the single point of accountability for output, quality, and timelines.
- Establish SOPs for Hot Peel, Cold Peel, Sheet Form and Roll Form lines.
- Drive yield improvement, reduce rejection, and develop new product / print recipes.
- Train and build a stable shop-floor team.
- Submit weekly performance dashboards to senior management.
