We are seeking a qualified and safety-conscious Crane Maintenance Technician to handle inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of overhead cranes, EOT cranes, gantry cranes, and related material handling systems. The role ensures maximum equipment uptime, operational safety, and compliance with industrial standards.
Key Responsibilities :
· Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance of overhead cranes, EOT cranes, gantry cranes, and hoists
· Inspect mechanical, electrical, and structural components to identify wear, damage, or malfunction
· Diagnose faults in motors, gearboxes, brakes, control panels, VFDs, limit switches, and wiring systems
· Carry out breakdown maintenance and ensure quick restoration of crane operations
· Perform periodic safety inspections and load testing as per statutory requirements
· Maintain detailed maintenance logs, inspection reports, and service records
· Ensure compliance with safety standards, LOTO procedures, and plant safety policies
· Coordinate with production and dispatch teams to minimize downtime
· Assist in installation, commissioning, and modification of crane systems
· Support root cause analysis for recurring failures and recommend corrective actions
Required Competencies :
· ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
· 2–5 years of experience in crane maintenance or heavy industrial equipment maintenance
· Strong understanding of electrical circuits, motors, control systems, and mechanical drives
· Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals
Preferred Skills :
- Hands-on experience with EOT / overhead crane systems
- Knowledge of VFDs, PLC basics, and industrial automation systems (added advantage)
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards and statutory inspection procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in shifts and industrial environments
