Role Overview
We are looking for Controls / PLC Engineers to provide structured Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 support for FAST ticketing operations, covering PLC/HMI troubleshooting, robotics interfaces, CNC, IIoT/MQTT and controlled escalation to the Core Controls Engineering Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Review FAST incidents and service requests, validate ticket completeness and capture plant, line/station, equipment, alarms, logs, screenshots, PLC/HMI versions and troubleshooting history.
- Classify tickets by category, severity, support level, ownership and escalation requirement; provide first response and maintain ticket updates through closure.
- Execute approved troubleshooting playbooks, health checks, alarm/log reviews, configuration verification and basic connectivity/interface checks.
- Diagnose controls systems across PLC, HMI, field devices, industrial communications, robotics interfaces, IIoT/MQTT components and manufacturing applications.
- Perform approved PLC/HMI program corrections, recurring-defect analysis, root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action recommendations.
- Support Fanuc and ABB robot-related controls queries and coordinate with robot engineering / Core Controls teams as required.
- Support CNC-related issues including Siemens SINUMERIK ONE and controls integration within approved scope.
- Troubleshoot controls-side symptoms for OMS, QTS/QLSCM, VTAG/GPTS and MQTT/IIoT interfaces and coordinate with resolver groups.
- Prepare technically complete escalations including reproduction steps, logs, code/configuration deltas, impact assessment, rollback considerations and test evidence.
- Follow change-management, access-control, plant-safety, cybersecurity, backup, validation, rollback and approval requirements; no unapproved production changes.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong PLC troubleshooting/programming experience, preferably Siemens PLC and FAST-standard controls environments.
- Experience with PLC/HMI applications, industrial communications and manufacturing automation support.
- Ability to diagnose alarms, logs, configuration, connectivity and controls integration issues.
- Experience with Fanuc and/or ABB robot interfaces; Senior roles additionally require Siemens CNC programming exposure.
- Strong ticket/case management, documentation, RCA and technical escalation skills.
- Ability to work in Level 1/2/3 support models and coordinate with cross-functional resolver groups.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Siemens PLC programming and FAST standards.
- Experience with Siemens SINUMERIK ONE / CNC programming.
- Knowledge of Fanuc and ABB robots, Cognex / Keyence cameras and Siemens VFDs.
- Exposure to MQTT / IIoT gateways, MES QA servers and VTAG server.
- Experience with 5D / 8D corrective-action reporting and manufacturing controls support.
Candidate Profile
Controls / PLC Engineer with 2–6 years of relevant experience, strong troubleshooting and programming fundamentals, manufacturing automation knowledge and the ability to manage FAST tickets, perform RCA and escalate complex issues through controlled support processes.
