Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Welding Supervisor to oversee welding activities, ensure work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintain required quality standards. The supervisor will lead welders & monitor production progress, and ensure compliance with approved drawings, welding procedures, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily welding activities.
- Allocate work to welders and ensure manpower is effectively utilized.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
- Ensure welding is performed according to approved WPS applicable codes, and project requirements.
- Monitor welding quality and coordinate with QC/QA personnel for inspections and testing.
- Inspect welding work for defects and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Monitor productivity, work progress, and project schedules.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of welding machines, tools, and equipment.
- Coordinate with engineers, QC inspectors, production teams, and other departments.
- Ensure welders use the correct consumables, electrodes, shielding gases, and welding parameters.
- Maintain welding records, production reports, inspection documentation, and manpower records.
- Enforce company HSE policies, including PPE requirements and safe welding practices.
- Train, guide, and evaluate welding personnel.
- Identify production problems and implement practical solutions to minimize delays and rework.
Qualifications
- Diploma or ITI qualification in Welding, Fabrication, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant welding/fabrication experience, preferably with supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes in TIG
- Knowledge of welding inspection, weld defects, and repair procedures.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Familiarity with relevant welding codes and standards such as ASME, AWS, API, or ISO, depending on the industry.
- Good knowledge of workplace safety requirements.
- Relevant welding inspection or supervisory certification is an advantage
- CSWIP certificate is required.
