We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Production Services Application Support Analyst (L1/L2) to join our Production Services Engineering team in Pune.
Role Overview
This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of production applications by providing Level 1 and Level 2 support. The analyst will play a critical role in incident management, monitoring, issue resolution, and maintaining operational excellence across a growing portfolio of applications.
Production Support & Incident Management
• Provide L1/L2 support for production systems, ensuring timely triage and resolution of incidents
• Monitor application health and proactively identify risks using monitoring tools
• Lead incident response, including impact assessment, troubleshooting, and resolution coordination
• Ensure adherence to SLAs, OLAs, and incident management processes
Monitoring & Operational Excellence
• Perform continuous monitoring of applications, infrastructure, and batch processes
• Handle alert management and escalation as required
• Maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base articles
• Support 24x7 operations with on-call rotation
Automation & Continuous Improvement
• Identify repetitive manual activities and convert them into automation solutions.
• Develop scripts using:
• Shell / Python / SQL automation
• Automate routine activities such as:
• MQ queue monitoring and alerts
• Oracle health checks
• Batch job validation and restart
• Log parsing and alert generation
• Contribute to building self-healing and auto-remediation solutions.
Root Cause Analysis & Problem Management
• Conduct RCA for major incidents and recurring issues
• Partner with development and infrastructure teams to implement permanent fixes
• Track and reduce incident volume through continuous improvement
Change & Release Support
• Support production releases, deployments, and environment validations
• Validate post-deployment stability and coordinate rollback if needed
• Ensure adherence to change management and release governance processes
Collaboration & Stakeholder Communication
• Act as the first point of contact for production issues
• Communicate effectively with business stakeholders, development teams, and vendors
• Provide regular updates during incidents and outages
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4–8 years of experience in application production support (L1/L2)
• Strong understanding of incident, problem, and change management processes
• Experience supporting mission-critical, high-availability systems
Technical Skills
• Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Splunk, Dynatrace, etc.)
• Knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows environments
• Familiarity with databases (SQL/Oracle)
• Understanding of batch processing and scheduling tools
• Experience with messaging systems (MQ/Kafka) is a plus
• Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Python, etc.) preferred
Preferred Skills
• Experience in financial services or capital markets domain
• Understanding of application architecture and distributed systems
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and service management frameworks
• Exposure to cloud platforms and DevOps practices
