Job Summary:
The Nursing Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all nursing services in the hospital. The role ensures high-quality patient care, staff management, and compliance with hospital policies and standards like NABH. Strong bedside care & teaching skills require. up to 10years of experience in NS
Key Responsibilities:
1. Nursing Operations
- Supervise daily nursing activities across all departments (IPD, OPD, ICU, OT)
- Ensure proper patient care and safety standards
- Monitor infection control practices
2. Staff Management
- Prepare duty rosters and manage shift schedules
- Handle staff allocation and shortages
- Maintain discipline and resolve staff conflicts
3. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and NABH standards
- Maintain accurate nursing records and documentation
- Conduct regular audits and inspections
4. Training & Development
- Train new nursing staff and conduct orientation programs
- Organize workshops and continuous education sessions
5. Emergency Handling
- Manage Code Blue and critical care situations
- Coordinate with doctors and emergency teams
6. Administration
- Handle patient complaints and ensure satisfaction
- Prepare reports (daily census, incidents, etc.)
Required Qualifications:
- B.Sc Nursing (preferred) / M.Sc Nursing
- Valid Nursing Council Registration
Experience:
- Minimum 8 – 12 years in nursing
- At least 3–5 years in supervisory role
Skills Required:
- Leadership & team management
- Communication & interpersonal skills
- Decision-making & problem-solving
- Knowledge of hospital protocols and legal compliance
- NABH Standard skills
Salary:
As per hospital norms (depends on experience)
