About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on, responsible Plant Operations Manager to manage day-to-day activities at our manufacturing unit. This role suits anyone who has run a production floor in any manufacturing setup and is confident handling people, machines, and overall plant coordination.
You don't need aluminium-wire-specific experience — experience in any similar manufacturing environment (metals, cables, fabrication, automobile parts, engineering goods) is equally welcome.
What You'll Own
Daily Plant Operations
● Oversee daily production activities and ensure smooth workflow.
● Coordinate between production, quality, maintenance, and stores teams.
● Monitor shift operations and ensure timely output.
Production Planning & Support
● Plan resources and manpower against the production schedule.
● Support production teams in hitting daily and monthly targets.
● Maintain basic documentation and reporting.
Maintenance Coordination
● Work closely with the maintenance team on machine checks and breakdown support.
● Ensure machines and equipment are ready for use.
● Review maintenance requirements and follow up with the concerned teams.
Material & Inventory Management
● Check raw material availability and coordinate with stores/purchase.
● Monitor inward–outward movement of material.
● Maintain proper stock levels to avoid shortages.
Safety & Compliance
● Ensure all employees follow basic safety rules and plant guidelines.
● Maintain a clean, disciplined, and safe working environment.
● Help prepare the plant for periodic inspections or audits.
You do NOT need prior audit-management experience — a solid understanding of safety and plant discipline is enough. We'll guide you through the audit process.
Team & Communication
● Manage operators, technicians, and contract manpower across shifts.
● Resolve day-to-day issues and maintain team discipline.
● Keep senior management updated on plant performance.
Process Improvement
● Spot small improvements that reduce errors, delays, or wastage.
● Suggest ideas to improve efficiency and productivity.
What We're Looking For
● 5–8 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial plant operations (3–5 years with strong ownership also considered).
● Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Production Engineering — or equivalent proven experience without a formal engineering degree.
● Experience in metals/wires/cables/fabrication is a strong advantage, but not required.
● Solid understanding of plant maintenance cycles, production workflows, and operational best practices.
● Comfortable handling day-to-day coordination and documentation.
● Working English for reports and calls with management — you do not need to be fluent; conversational + written is enough.
