Company Description:
Xolopak India Ltd is a pioneering company in manufacturing sustainable consumable products for HORECA, Bakery and Home/Personal care industry in India. We operate in B2B and institutional business within this segment and have a pan India presence. Our products include single use wooden cutlery, ice-cream sticks and spoons, cake bases, speciality papers, luxury napkins, thermal rolls etc. Our prestigious customers include some of the largest brands in the food and ice-cream industry.
Job Overview:
We are looking for a senior Technical Head to lead engineering, machine planning and electrical infrastructure across all our manufacturing facilities in India. This is a group level role, above our factory-level mechanical engineers, responsible for standardizing machine layout and electrical planning practices, supervising day-to-day technical operations across factories, and directly owning procurement of transformers, DG sets/panels and other major electrical equipment at the best commercial terms. The ideal candidate brings a strong mix of mechanical and electrical engineering depth, hands-on plant experience, and an established vendor network in the electrical equipment market.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs):
Provide technical leadership across all factory locations — supervise and guide the senior mechanical engineers and technical teams at each plant, ensuring consistent standards in machine planning, layout and electrical practices.
Review and approve machine positioning/layout plans prepared at each factory, factoring in machine weight, dimensions, utility and accessory requirements, safety clearances and future expansion space.
Own group-level electrical load planning — validate transformer sizing, DG backup capacity, panel design and distribution planning for each factory based on installed and planned machine load.
Lead procurement of transformers, DG sets/panels, HT/LT panels, cabling and other major electrical equipment and infrastructure — negotiate directly with OEMs, vendors and suppliers to secure the best pricing, delivery and service terms.
Build and maintain a strong vendor/supplier network in the electrical equipment market (transformers, DG sets, switchgear, panels, cables) to ensure competitive rates, reliable supply and after-sales support.
Standardize SOPs, checklists and technical documentation for machine installation, electrical planning and commissioning across all factories.
Coordinate with machine suppliers (domestic and international) on technical specifications, installation requirements and commissioning support for new equipment.
Review and sign off on electrical safety compliance, statutory approvals and certifications (electrical inspectorate approvals, load sanction from utility/DISCOM, etc.) for each factory.
Drive cost optimization in electrical infrastructure spend — energy efficiency, right-sizing of transformers/DG capacity, and reduction in equipment downtime due to power issues.
Act as the escalation point for complex technical/electrical issues across factories that cannot be resolved at the plant level.
Plan and budget capital expenditure for machine installation and electrical infrastructure across factories; track spend against budget.
Mentor and develop the mechanical/electrical engineering talent pool across factories; support hiring and capability-building for technical roles.
Periodically visit all factory locations to audit machine layouts, electrical systems and ongoing installation/expansion projects.
Required Qualification, Skills & Competencies:
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electrical & Electronics Engineering; additional certification/diploma in electrical systems or plant engineering is a plus.
10–15 years of experience spanning machine installation/layout planning and electrical infrastructure planning in a manufacturing environment, with proven exposure to multi-factory or group-level responsibility.
Strong combined expertise in mechanical (machine positioning, dimensions, utility/accessory requirements) and electrical engineering (transformer sizing, DG capacity planning, panel design, load calculations).
Established, active network of vendors and suppliers for transformers, DG sets/panels and electrical equipment, with a track record of negotiating favorable commercial terms.
Working knowledge of statutory/regulatory requirements for electrical installations — DISCOM load sanction, electrical inspectorate approvals, safety codes.
Experience managing or mentoring engineering teams across multiple sites; comfortable travelling regularly across factory locations.
Strong project management skills — able to plan and track machine installation and electrical infrastructure projects from specification through commissioning.
Good commercial acumen — cost estimation, vendor negotiation and budget management for capital equipment and infrastructure.
Proficient in MS Office/ERP systems; comfortable working with technical drawings, load calculation sheets and project trackers.
Strong leadership, cross-site coordination and communication skills; able to work independently and take ownership at a group level.
