We are looking for our first sales hire to lead go-to-market efforts for a new EdTech product serving U.S. K–12 schools and districts.
This is a hands-on, entrepreneurial role for someone who enjoys building from the ground up. You will own the entire sales process - from identifying prospects and creating pipeline to closing deals and helping shape our sales strategy. As one of the earliest commercial team members, you'll work directly with the founders to define messaging, pricing, sales processes, and customer feedback loops.
Prior experience selling directly to U.S. K–12 schools and school districts is required.
What You'll Do
- Own the complete sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution and customer handoff.
- Build and manage a healthy pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, conferences, and strategic account outreach.
- Develop relationships with district decision-makers, including Superintendents, Assistant Superintendents, Curriculum Directors, Technology Directors, Principals, and instructional leaders.
- Conduct discovery calls and product demonstrations tailored to district needs.
- Navigate district procurement processes, purchasing timelines, approvals, and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate directly with founders to refine product positioning, messaging, pricing, and sales collateral.
- Gather customer insights and translate market feedback into product recommendations.
- Build repeatable sales processes, playbooks, and best practices as the company scales.
- Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline forecasting, and revenue reporting.
- Represent the company at education conferences, district meetings, and industry events.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of quota-carrying SaaS or EdTech sales experience.
- At least 3 years leading sales directly to U.S. K–12 schools and school districts.
- Demonstrated success managing the entire sales cycle from prospecting to close.
- Track record of consistently exceeding revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of district buying cycles, procurement, and public-sector sales.
- Experience selling to multiple stakeholders across school districts.
- Existing relationships with district leaders across the U.S.
- Experience helping build sales processes, playbooks, or GTM strategies at an early-stage company.
- Experience launching or selling a new product rather than only established offerings.
- Comfortable working in an early-stage startup environment with ambiguity and limited structure.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
We want to hear from you if:
- You're comfortable creating opportunities instead of waiting for inbound leads.
- You thrive in a startup environment where you'll wear multiple hats.
- You enjoy helping shape product strategy through direct customer conversations.
- You're equally comfortable talking with teachers, principals, district administrators, and superintendents.
- You think like an owner and are excited to help build the company's sales organization from the ground up.
