JOB DESCRIPTION – PURCHASE MANAGER

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager to manage end-to-end procurement activities for our real estate and construction projects. The role will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of quality materials at competitive prices, while maintaining proper vendor management, cost control and procurement processes.
The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of construction materials, local and regional vendors, negotiation, rate comparison, purchase documentation and project-based procurement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Procurement & Material Planning
- Manage end-to-end procurement of construction, finishing, electrical, plumbing, civil and other project-related materials.
- Coordinate with the Projects, Technical, Store and Accounts teams to understand material requirements and timelines.
- Ensure timely procurement and availability of materials as per project schedules.
- Plan purchases based on current and upcoming project requirements to avoid delays and unnecessary inventory.
2. Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
- Maintain a strong vendor network for construction and project-related materials.
- Obtain quotations, compare rates, negotiate prices and finalise suppliers.
- Regularly evaluate vendors based on price, quality, delivery timelines and service.
- Develop alternate vendors to ensure continuity of supply.
3. Cost Control & Negotiation
- Negotiate the best possible rates, payment terms, credit periods and delivery conditions.
- Prepare and maintain comparative statements for major purchases.
- Ensure purchases are made within approved budgets and company guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
4. Purchase Orders & Documentation
- Prepare and process Purchase Orders after receiving the required approvals.
- Ensure purchase documentation is complete and properly maintained.
- Verify quotations, comparative statements, approvals and supplier invoices.
- Coordinate with Accounts for invoice processing and vendor payments.
- Maintain proper records of all purchases and vendor transactions.
5. Project Coordination
- Work closely with the Project Manager, Technical Team, Site Engineers, Store and Accounts to ensure smooth procurement.
- Understand technical specifications and ensure materials procured meet the required standards.
- Follow up with vendors for timely delivery as per site requirements.
- Resolve material-related issues, shortages, delays and quality concerns.
6. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure materials are procured as per approved specifications and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the technical/site team regarding material approval wherever required.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to the company's purchase procedures.
- Monitor rejected, damaged or non-conforming materials and coordinate with vendors for replacement.
7. Inventory & Store Coordination
- Coordinate closely with the Store Department regarding material availability and consumption.
- Avoid over-purchasing, stock-outs and unnecessary accumulation of inventory.
- Monitor critical and high-value materials and plan procurement accordingly.

- Ability to analyse quotations and prepare comparative statements

Educational Qualification & Experience
- Graduate in any relevant discipline; Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field will be preferred.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in real estate, construction or infrastructure projects.
- Candidates with strong knowledge of the Gwalior and surrounding markets/vendors will be preferred.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
