Job Summary:
The Fabric Cutting Incharge is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising all fabric cutting activities to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient supply of cut panels to the sewing department. The role involves fabric utilization control, manpower management, quality compliance, and adherence to production schedules in an e-commerce garment manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:Production Planning & Execution
· Plan and execute daily cutting activities as per production requirements.
· Ensure timely delivery of cut components to the sewing line.
· Coordinate with Production, Merchandising, and Stores departments to meet delivery schedules.
· Monitor cutting targets and achieve planned production output.
Fabric Management
· Verify fabric receipts and ensure proper fabric allocation for orders.
· Monitor fabric consumption and minimize wastage.
· Maintain fabric stock records and coordinate fabric requisitions.
· Ensure proper fabric spreading and marker utilization.
Quality Control
· Ensure accurate cutting according to approved markers, patterns, and specifications.
· Conduct regular quality checks on spreading, cutting, and bundling processes.
· Identify and report fabric defects before cutting.
· Ensure compliance with company quality standards.
Team Management
· Supervise cutting operators, helpers, and spreaders.
· Allocate work and monitor employee productivity.
· Train and guide team members on cutting procedures and quality requirements.
· Maintain discipline, safety, and housekeeping within the cutting section.
Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain daily production and fabric consumption reports.
· Track order-wise cutting status and pending quantities.
· Prepare efficiency and wastage reports.
· Coordinate with management regarding production progress and challenges.
Safety & Compliance
· Ensure safe operation of cutting machines and equipment.
· Follow company policies and workplace safety regulations.
· Maintain clean and organized work areas following 5S practices.
Required Qualifications:
· Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, or a related field.
· Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
Experience:
· 3–7 years of experience in garment cutting operations.
· Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or in-charge role.
· Experience in e-commerce, export, or large-scale garment manufacturing is preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
· Strong knowledge of fabric cutting, spreading, marker planning, and fabric utilization.
· Ability to manage manpower and production targets.
· Good understanding of garment manufacturing processes.
· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency in production reporting and record maintenance.
· Knowledge of cutting machines and safety procedures.
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
