We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Sports Content Writer who can create engaging, accurate, and fast-paced content related to cricket and other sports. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of sports, especially cricket, and be able to write match previews, live updates, news articles, and feature content in a clear and engaging style.
Key Responsibilities
- Write clear and engaging sports content including match previews, reports, and news updates
- Create SEO-friendly articles for website traffic growth
- Write engaging headlines and short summaries for sports news
- Research players, teams, and match statistics for accurate reporting
- Maintain consistency in tone, quality, and publishing deadlines
- Work closely with editors and digital team for content planning
- Follow latest sports trends, especially cricket (IPL, ICC events, international series)
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of cricket and other major sports
- Good understanding of live match flow and terminology
- Excellent English writing and grammar skills
- Ability to write fast and meet tight deadlines (live updates)
- Basic knowledge of SEO writing (keywords, headlines, meta description)
- Ability to simplify complex match situations into engaging content
- Familiarity with IPL, international cricket, and major tournaments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sports journalism or content writing
- Experience with live blogging or score updates is a plus
- Knowledge of tools like WordPress (optional)
