Construction Site HR – Roles and Responsibilities
A Construction Site HR is responsible for managing manpower, ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining employee records, and supporting smooth site operations.
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Recruit workers, staff, and engineers as per site requirements.
- Coordinate interviews and joining formalities.
- Complete employee documentation and verification.
2. Attendance & Payroll
- Maintain daily attendance of employees and contract workers.
- Verify attendance with site supervisors.
- Prepare monthly attendance and submit it to the Head Office.
- Support payroll processing and resolve salary-related queries.
3. Employee Records
- Maintain employee personal files.
- Keep employee documents such as Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, and educational certificates.
4. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with:
- PF (Provident Fund)
- ESI
- Professional Tax (where applicable)
- Labour laws
- Contract Labour compliance
- Coordinate with contractors for statutory documents and registers.
5. Contractor Management
- Monitor contractor manpower deployment.
- Verify contractor attendance and wage records.
- Ensure contractors comply with labour laws and company policies.
- Maintain contractor compliance records.
6. Employee Relations
- Address employee grievances.
- Counsel employees on attendance, discipline, and workplace behavior.
- Promote a positive work environment.
- Support employee engagement activities.
7. HR Administration
- Maintain leave records.
- Issue employment-related letters (experience, relieving, warning, etc.).
- Coordinate accommodation and transportation, if applicable.
8. Training & Compliance
- Conduct induction for new employees.
- Coordinate safety and compliance training.
- Maintain training records.
- Create awareness about company policies
9. Performance & Discipline
- Monitor employee performance and attendance.
- Maintain records of disciplinary actions.
- Issue warning letters when required.
- Support performance reviews.
10. Exit Management
- Process resignations and full-and-final settlement documentation.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Collect company assets.
11. Coordination
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Contractors, Accounts, and the Head Office.
