Job Description – Production Manager cum Plant Head

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Production Manager cum Plant Head to oversee complete plant operations, production planning, manpower management, productivity improvement, and cost control. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets with minimum wastage while ensuring smooth coordination between production, stores, quality, and maintenance departments.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Control
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans as per customer requirements.
- Ensure timely production and dispatch of material.
- Monitor production schedules and achieve production targets efficiently.
- Improve productivity and machine utilization.
- Implement FIFO (First In First Out) system for proper material movement and inventory control.
Plant Operations Management
- Handle complete plant operations and shop floor activities.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all departments within the plant.
- Maintain discipline, safety, and operational standards in the plant.
- Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams for uninterrupted production.
Manpower Handling
- Manage operators, supervisors, and production staff effectively.
- Allocate manpower as per production requirements.
- Monitor attendance, shift management, and workforce productivity.
- Train and motivate employees for better performance.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead production teams with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Develop a positive and performance-driven work culture.
- Take quick decisions during production-related issues and emergencies.
Waste Reduction & Cost Control
- Work on minimum wastage of raw material and consumables.
- Monitor rejection, rework, and production losses.
- Implement continuous improvement activities for cost reduction.
Store & Material Planning
- Plan and monitor extra material availability in stores.
- Coordinate with the purchase and store department for material planning.
- Ensure proper inventory management to avoid shortages or excess stock.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily production reports and MIS reports.
- Maintain production records, manpower reports, and efficiency data.
- Report plant performance to management regularly.

Qualification
- Diploma / B. Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 8–15 years of experience in manufacturing industry.
- Experience in handling complete plant operations is preferred.
- Minimum 3–4 years of experience in fabrication.
- Experience in machining operations involving CNC, VMC, HMC, SPM, and boring machines is preferred.
