Job Summary:
The Purchaser & Brokerage Executive will be responsible for procurement of agro and food commodities, coordination with brokers, negotiation with suppliers, maintaining purchase records, and ensuring smooth execution of deals from booking to delivery. The role also includes market analysis, rate negotiation, and relationship management with traders, millers, transporters, and customers.
Key Responsibilities (KRA)
Purchase Management
- Procure maize, wheat, rice, cattle feed, and other agro commodities as per company requirements.
- Negotiate rates, quality, and delivery terms with suppliers and brokers.
- Compare market prices and finalize profitable deals.
- Ensure timely purchase orders and confirmations.
Brokerage Operations
- Coordinate with brokers and commission agents for market deals.
- Maintain brokerage records and commission calculations.
- Develop strong relationships with brokers, traders, and suppliers.
- Follow up on pending deals and delivery schedules.
Market Analysis
- Monitor daily mandi and commodity market rates.
- Share market trends and price updates with management.
- Identify new suppliers and business opportunities.
Deal Coordination
- Coordinate vehicle dispatch, loading, and unloading schedules.
- Ensure smooth communication between buyer, seller, transporter, and accounts team.
- Handle deal documentation and confirmations through WhatsApp and email.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain purchase registers and brokerage statements.
- Prepare deal reports, stock reports, and pending order reports.
- Ensure proper filing of invoices, weighment slips, LR copies, and purchase documents.
Vendor Management
- Maintain long-term business relationships with vendors and brokers.
- Resolve supplier disputes and delivery issues professionally.
- Evaluate supplier performance regularly.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Good knowledge of commodity/agro markets
- Basic accounting and brokerage calculation knowledge
- MS Excel and ERP knowledge
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple deals
- Good coordination and follow-up skills
Qualification
- Graduate / B.Com / MBA preferred
- Experience in food trading, agro commodity purchase, or brokerage business preferred
Experience
- 2–5 years in Purchase / Trading / Brokerage field
