Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and result-oriented Production Manager cum Plant Manager to oversee the overall manufacturing operations of our snacks production facility. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in production planning, plant operations, manpower management, food safety, cost control, and continuous process improvement. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth plant operations while achieving production targets, maintaining product quality, and ensuring compliance with all statutory and food safety regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management
- Plan, organize, and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Ensure achievement of production targets with optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
- Monitor production efficiency, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Minimize production losses, wastage, downtime, and rework.
- Coordinate with Planning, Purchase, Quality, Maintenance, and Dispatch departments for smooth production flow.
- Ensure timely execution of production plans to meet customer demand.
Plant Operations
- Manage overall plant operations, including production, maintenance, utilities, stores, and housekeeping.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all production lines and utilities.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensure optimum utilization of plant resources and infrastructure.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
Quality & Food Safety
- Ensure adherence to FSSAI, GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, and food safety regulations.
- Work closely with the Quality team to maintain product consistency and quality standards.
- Ensure proper implementation of SOPs, process controls, and hygiene practices.
- Address production-related quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Manpower Management
- Lead, motivate, and supervise production staff, supervisors, and operators.
- Allocate manpower effectively across production lines.
- Conduct performance reviews and identify training and development needs.
- Maintain discipline and promote a safe, positive work culture.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Monitor raw material, packaging material, and consumable usage.
- Reduce material wastage and improve production yield.
- Control manufacturing costs without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with stores for inventory planning and stock management.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, labour laws, and factory safety requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation related to production and compliance.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards.
Reporting
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Monitor production KPIs and present performance reports to senior management.
- Analyze production data and recommend process improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Food Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- MBA in Operations or Production Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in FMCG Manufacturing.
- At least 3 years in a Production Manager or Plant Manager role.
- Hands-on experience in Snacks, Namkeen, Chips, Extruded Snacks, Bakery, Biscuits, or Food Processing industries.
- Experience in handling medium to large-scale manufacturing operations.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
