We are looking for a skilled Structured Cabling Technician to install, terminate, test, and maintain structured cabling systems for commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate should have experience in installing copper and fiber optic cabling for networking and ELV systems while ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and route CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, coaxial, and fiber optic cables through conduits, cable trays, trunking, and ceiling spaces.
- Install and terminate network outlets, keystone jacks, patch panels, and fiber optic enclosures.
- Perform RJ45 crimping, cable dressing, labeling, and cable management.
- Install and support cabling for CCTV, Wi-Fi access points, IP telephony, access control, intercom, public address, and other ELV systems.
- Conduct cable testing and troubleshooting using cable testers and other testing equipment.
- Read and follow layout drawings, floor plans, and cable routing diagrams.
- Ensure proper cable identification, documentation, and as-built updates.
- Assist in the installation of network racks, cabinets, and cable management accessories.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
- Follow company safety procedures and site regulations at all times.
- Coordinate with site engineers, supervisors, and project teams to complete work within project timelines.
- Report material requirements and installation progress to the site supervisor.
Qualifications
- ITI Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Wireman, ICTSM, or equivalent.
- Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Electronics & Communication Engineering is also acceptable.
- Certification in structured cabling or fiber optic installation is an added advantage.
