Job Summary:
The Deputy Director – Technology Solutions will lead the development and implementation of scalable and secure IT solutions that support the university’s academic, research, and administrative functions. The role requires a strong foundation in enterprise platforms such as Oracle , SAP , and Java/J2EE , along with experience in education technologies and digital transformation. The ideal candidate will work closely with stakeholders to integrate technology with the university’s strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement robust, scalable IT solutions using platforms such as Oracle ERP , SAP (Student Lifecycle Management, HRMS, Finance) , and Java/J2EE-based applications .
- Lead the digital transformation of university services, including automation of academic, financial, and administrative processes.
- Oversee integration and maintenance of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Student Information Systems (SIS), and other academic platforms.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to implement innovative solutions for blended and online learning.
- Manage cloud and on-premise infrastructure ensuring high availability, data security, and compliance with university and government regulations.
- Supervise and mentor the IT team including software developers, systems engineers, database administrators, and technical support staff.
- Ensure smooth implementation, integration, and upgrades of enterprise systems and applications.
- Work closely with vendors and partners to evaluate and deploy the latest technologies.
- Plan and manage IT budgets, procurement, and resource allocation in alignment with institutional priorities.
Monitor KPIs and report on project performance, system uptime, and service quality to senior leadership.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role in an academic or public sector organization.
- Hands-on experience in Oracle (ERP/Database), SAP modules (SLCM, HR, Finance), and Java/J2EE-based application development.
- Strong understanding of educational technologies, digital platforms, and automation tools.
- Experience with ERP implementation in an academic environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of data privacy, cyber security, and higher education compliance standards (NAAC, UGC, NIRF, etc.).
