We are hiring an experienced Chef de Partie – Continental to take responsibility for the Continental section of our kitchen.
We are looking for a chef who can independently manage their section during service while maintaining consistency in taste, preparation and presentation.
Responsibilities
- Manage the Continental section during preparation and service.
- Ensure dishes are prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Handle mise en place, sauces, stocks, proteins, vegetables, pasta and other section requirements.
- Maintain consistency in seasoning, portions and presentation.
- Plan preparation according to expected business and service requirements.
- Coordinate with the Sous Chef and other kitchen sections.
- Supervise and guide Commis chefs working in the section.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels and minimize wastage.
- Follow FIFO and proper food storage procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety.
- Assist with improving dishes, preparation methods and kitchen procedures.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of professional kitchen experience, preferably with strong Continental exposure.
- Previous CDP experience preferred; experienced DCDPs may also apply.
- Strong knowledge of Continental cooking techniques.
- Good understanding of sauces, stocks, meats, seafood, pasta and related preparations.
- Ability to independently handle a section during busy service.
- Good plating and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety.
- Ability to supervise and train junior kitchen staff.
- Good communication and teamwork.
