Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Yaskawa Robot Engineer with hands-on experience in programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining Yaskawa MOTOMAN industrial robots. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of robotic automation, PLC integration, and production support in a manufacturing environment. Experience in welding, material handling, assembly, or palletizing applications is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, configure, and commission Yaskawa MOTOMAN industrial robots.
- Develop and optimize robot programs to improve cycle time and productivity.
- Integrate robots with PLCs, conveyors, vision systems, sensors, and other automation equipment.
- Perform robot teaching, path optimization, calibration, and payload setup.
- Troubleshoot robot alarms, controller issues, and communication faults.
- Support installation, commissioning, and production ramp-up at customer sites.
- Conduct preventive and breakdown maintenance of robotic systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and robot interlock systems.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Production, and Quality teams for smooth project execution.
- Prepare technical documentation, maintenance reports, and SOPs.
- Train operators and maintenance personnel on robot operation and basic troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Robotics, or Automation Engineering.
- 2–6 years of experience with Yaskawa MOTOMAN industrial robots.
- Experience with YRC1000/DX series controllers is preferred.
- Knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Omron, Allen-Bradley, etc.).
- Ability to read electrical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, and mechanical layouts.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel for installation and commissioning activities.
Preferred Skills
- Robot programming and simulation.
- PLC-Robot communication.
- Fieldbus communication (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, DeviceNet, CC-Link).
- Robot calibration and TCP setting.
- Vision system integration.
- Welding, handling, pick-and-place, assembly, or palletizing applications.
- Preventive maintenance and root cause analysis (RCA).
- 5S, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing knowledge.
