He will oversee end-to-end product quality—from wax pattern assembly and ceramic shell building to metal pouring, chemical composition checks, non-destructive testing (NDT), and dimensional final dispatch.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead quality assurance across all foundry processes including wax room parameters, shelling, dewaxing, melting, pouring, fettling and machining.
· Monitor critical process parameters and ensure process discipline and SPC-based control.
· Authority to stop production in case of quality deviation.
Internal Soundness & NDT
· Ensure internal integrity of castings through robust testing systems.
· Establish and manage Non-Destructive Testing (UT, RT, MPI, DPT) where applicable.
· Define and monitor acceptance criteria for internal defects such as shrinkage, porosity and inclusions.
Metallurgical & Testing Laboratory
· Manage chemical, metallurgical and mechanical testing laboratories including spectrometer, hardness, microstructure and defect analysis.
· Ensure metallurgical control supports process capability and defect prevention.
Customer Quality
· Ensure 100% compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
· Lead customer complaint resolution using 8D and root cause analysis.
· Interface with global OEM customers and support customer audits and reviews.
Quality Systems (QMS)
· Establish and sustain ISO9001 / ISO13485 / PED / IATF 16949 compliant Quality Management System.
· Lead internal audits, layered process audits and certification audits.
· Ensure deployment of customer-specific requirements and VDA standards.
Advanced Quality Planning
· Lead deployment of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC and MSA for new product development.
· Ensure robust process validation and defect prevention during product launch.
Defect Analysis & CAPA
· Lead root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone, Pareto) for casting flaws like porosity, inclusion, shrinkage, or misrun, and drive Corrective and Preventive Actions
Rejection Reduction & COPQ
· Drive reduction of internal rejection, rework and remelting.
· Improve first pass yield and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through structured problem solving.
Team Leadership
· Build and develop a high-performing quality and metallurgy team and train the team
· Promote a culture of process discipline, zero-defect mindset and continuous improvement.
Requirements & Skills
