Senior Housekeeper – Hotel Industry
Job Summary
The Senior Housekeeper is responsible for supervising and coordinating the housekeeping team to ensure that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest satisfaction. The role supports the Executive Housekeeper in managing daily housekeeping operations and ensuring compliance with hotel standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of Room Attendants, Housekeeping Attendants, and other housekeeping staff.
- Inspect guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and service areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently maintained.
- Allocate rooms and duties to housekeeping staff according to occupancy and operational requirements.
- Conduct regular room inspections and report maintenance issues, damages, or discrepancies to the appropriate department.
- Ensure guest requests and housekeeping-related complaints are handled promptly and professionally.
- Monitor linen, uniforms, cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels.
- Maintain accurate housekeeping records, checklists, room status reports, and inventory records.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office regarding room status, early check-ins, late check-outs, VIP arrivals, and special requests.
- Ensure proper handling of lost and found items according to hotel policy.
- Assist with scheduling, duty allocation, and manpower planning.
- Ensure safe and correct use of cleaning chemicals and housekeeping equipment.
- Support the Executive Housekeeper in implementing housekeeping procedures and maintaining quality standards.
- Handle emergency situations and follow hotel safety and security procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 1–3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel, with supervisory experience preferred.
- Good knowledge of hotel housekeeping operations and cleaning standards.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

Reporting To
Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager
Work Environment
The position requires flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays, depending on hotel operational requirements.

Pay: Up to ₹14,000.00 per month
