Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced and organized Stockyard Manager to oversee the daily operations of the passenger vehicle stockyard. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient vehicle receipt, storage, inventory management, pre-delivery coordination, dispatch, and yard safety while maintaining accurate records and minimizing vehicle damage.
Key ResponsibilitiesStockyard Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the vehicle stockyard.
- Plan and optimize yard layout for efficient vehicle movement and storage.
- Ensure proper parking, identification, and security of all vehicles.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain optimal yard capacity.
Vehicle Receipt & Inspection
- Coordinate receipt of vehicles from manufacturers and transporters.
- Conduct physical inspections for transit damage, shortages, and specification accuracy.
- Record and report damages immediately for insurance or transporter claims.
- Ensure all incoming vehicles are documented and entered into inventory systems.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all vehicles in the stockyard.
- Perform regular physical stock verification and reconciliation.
- Track vehicle ageing and coordinate timely dispatch to minimize inventory holding.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
Vehicle Dispatch & Delivery Coordination
- Coordinate vehicle dispatch to showrooms, customers, and other dealership locations.
- Ensure vehicles are dispatched with complete documentation.
- Work closely with sales, logistics, and PDI teams to meet delivery schedules.
- Monitor vehicle movement and update inventory records promptly.
Yard Maintenance & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the stockyard.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Prevent vehicle damage through proper handling and movement.
- Monitor security measures including CCTV, access control, and vehicle key management.
Team Management
- Supervise stockyard staff, drivers, and vehicle handlers.
- Allocate daily work assignments and monitor productivity.
- Train employees on safety, vehicle handling, and stockyard procedures.
- Ensure discipline and adherence to company policies.
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with OEM representatives, transporters, service, PDI, and sales departments.
- Prepare inventory, dispatch, ageing, damage, and operational reports.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory and stock management.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, Automotive, or a related field.
- Certification in inventory or logistics management is an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in stockyard, inventory, logistics, or dealership operations.
- Experience in a passenger vehicle dealership or automotive industry is highly preferred.
- Experience handling high-volume vehicle inventory is an advantage.
